In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, we are offering the Online Performance Assessment (OPA), a home based video recording examination monthly throughout 2021.
The Online Performance Grades Assessment(OPA) will have a slightly modified examination syllabus as follow:
Modified OPA Syllabus

Examination repertoires: 3 pieces to be selected from the approved list of repertoires from the IPVAEB syllabus. For repertoires not listed in IPVAEB syllabus, kindly email to info@ipvaeb.hk to seek approval prior to registration. For IPVAEB graded exam syllabus,

One Étude to be selected from the approved Étude list in the IPVAEB Syllabus;

There is no Scales, Sight-Reading and aural test components.
Video Recording and Video File Upload

The video recording must cover full body of the candidate with visible full keyboard and pedals;

It is not mandatory to record in a professional studio, but the audio quality should be reasonable. The video must be done in one session and unedited.

All recorded video must be send either via email or other large file transfer platform like We-transfer or Dropbox; Or you may upload to Google Drive , One Drive or Youtube private channel.

Online Performance Assessment is available from daily monthly throughout 2021.
Examination Registration
Examination registrations should be submitted online at OPA Online Registration at least 14 days before your submission.
Examination Fees

Refund Policy
The registration, examination preparation and scheduling processes incur considerable costs for IPVAEB, irrespective of whether candidates actually present on the day of their examinations. However, if a candidate wishes to withdraw from their examination, the withdrawal must be submitted in writing and will be considered under the following conditions:

Candidates who are unable to attend the examination for medical reasons (with medical proof);

compassionate or other emergency reasons;

direct conflict with school examination/overseas trip.
The candidate will be eligible to request either an examination credit for full amount toward the next registration (valid for one year) or a 70 percent refund of the examination fee.
Request for credits or refunds must be made in writing to IPVAEB and accompanied with official proof within 14 days from the date of scheduled examination.
